The touchscreen compatible TPU screen means that you could conceivably read a map displayed on your tablet, and manipulate it. And don't fret - its waterproof rating is IPX7 so your tablet will be safe, attached around your neck with the included lanyard. I'd really recommend the paper map option though - they're unlikely to run out of power.
